Walk around any distribution center or manufacturing facility and you will see them.

Spiders.

They are hiding inside and underneath old pieces of automation equipment that were shoved underneath pallet racking. An old shrink tunnel or L-bar sealer in a warehouse is like free rent to spiders. The equipment can sit for years without being used or repaired because of a minor issue or two.

There are a few factors that impact why spiders are able to exist in places that are not regularly inspected. The company may not have service personnel on staff along with not having enough technical expertise to solve the problem. These are factors to take into consideration. These spiders have been squatting for far too long, and the in-house department at FlexPAC want to provide you with solutions.

Before you go calling PETA on us, understand that we don’t have anything against spiders. They are actually a lot like the service department at FlexPAC, catching and cleaning up bugs instead of equipment.

What we do have a problem with is when perfectly good equipment, like the L-bar sealer found in the above video, sits unused. We could have told our customer there was no use in fixing the equipment and sold or leased them a brand new unit. Instead, we nearly completely overhauled, cleaned up and rebuilt the piece of equipment. The equipment repair job cost nearly half of what a new unit would’ve run.

Are you worried about ancient equipment and finding parts for it? Some of the parts for this rebuild were completely re-tooled by a local machine shop to match, and even improve upon, the original parts.

Request for our Automation Specialist, Tom Masters, our Service Manager, Brad Anderson or any of our other 5 in-house service staff to evaluate your broken automation equipment today and schedule an equipment repair.
