Seasonal packaging is used for just about anything, and the reason why is because it works when done correctly.
Benefits of seasonal packaging are numerous. One benefit is by creating interest from your “normal day” packaging. People are looking for that unique gift for a certain someone and seasonal packaging helps grab their attention. It re-engages your current customer base and creates a little exclusivity (“Limited Edition”, “Short Time Only!” ). Another benefit is increased selling. The National Retail Federation stated that consumers spent around $626 billion during the 2015 major holiday season, which was up 3% from 2014’s holiday season. Also, based on their research, spending can equal about 30% of a store’s total sales for the year during the major holiday shopping season. That’s kind of a big deal. Now large companies, the name brands at the grocery store or retail chains have been working on their holiday seasonal packaging since January. They’ve nailed down the look, they’ve already sourced their suppliers and production is in full swing to be seen in a store near you in just a few weeks. They’ve got their game plan well on its way. That doesn’t mean though that you can’t play the game as well. It’s not too late!
